The Fast Romantics 03.03.11
@ Fontana’s NYC It takes a lot of chutzpah to lug around your own lighted sign and lighting system to every gig you play in North America, but dammit The Fast Romantics are worthy! Easily one of the best looking bands we’ve had play here, they’d be at home on our humble little stage or headlining Webster Hall. Their stage presence has the kind of energy to make an tiny space electric and an arena space intimate – like Rilo Kiley used to. Their songs have a way of sneaking up on you too – not quite fitting any genre, the image that kept popping into my head was the carnival scene in Grease for some reason. I have to declare The Fast Romantics the best thing to come out of Calgary since The Hitman (rasslin' reference). fastromantics.com |
