@ Rehab NYC First off The Antlers, the first band of my new incubator-esque Brooklyn West Sessions residency program at REHAB. Peter Silberman is the Billy Corgan figure of the outfit, who despite being barely legal drinking age, has cultivated a slow to fast wall of sound sound that harkens back to such Lower East Side legends as Benzos and early Dirty on Purpose. Last night was the third and final night of their run, and as I stated to Peter afterwards, this dark Wednesday night had a bit of a Hamburg '61 feeling to it in that from humble beginnings, relative greatness (a Bowery Ballroom slot) is not too far off. antlersmusic.com |
