@ Bowery Ballroom NYC Bearing the burden of being the Next Big Thing must be a helluva pressurized way to go through one's last days of being underage. It's not like you can request bottles of Jack and Maker's on your rider to help take the edge off. In the case of the kids of Smith Westerns, they appear to be taking it all in stride - and as a gloriously slowed down and mature version of undoubtedly their best and well-known song All Die Young showed, they're growing as a live band by leaps and bounds seemingly with every passing show. As they knocked out song after well-crafted song from their excellent debut album, one could only imagine how deep the Beatles-infused well they're drawing from is and just how much better they can get, especially once they start imbibing for inspiration.
