@ Fontana's NYC First off, George and Tris of Overlord are absolute legends of the greater NYC music scene and have been for a while now - so it was quite an honor to host their record release show which they shared with the excellent Corita and Crawl Babies. Pop is a many splendored thing and Overlord bring a power to it that actually confirms the ominous insinuations of their much-analyzed name. On their best songs, the band's thump and melody is up there with the great power pop bands like Sweet, The Replacements, and Big Star. Overlord's most apparent attribute though and the one I appreciate the most is the absolute joy they bring to their live performance which makes shooting them so easy I almost felt spoiled.
