@ Terminal 5 NYC I would imagine that opening for a band like Queens of The Stone Age would be a bit like the comedians opening for Adam Sandler's George Simmons in Funny People. It's got to be a fucking tightrope of nerves where the energy of a restless crowd can rise up to propel you if you engage them or drown you in boos or worse, apathy. Thankfully for all of us involved in the process on this night, The Dough Rollers succeeded in the former scenario in spades. Looking and sounding like a bluesier updated Stray Cats, they provided a refreshingly folksy counterpoint to the sonic stoner assault that was to follow. The Dough Rollers Myspace |
