@ Sin-e NYC Most NYC dwellers and discerning music fans from China to Scandinavia know Dennis Cahlo one of the most charismatic and influential front men of this era of rock music of one of the biggest yet unheralded band of the NYC rock revolution The Realistics. These days he's carving a new niche and name for himself in as contrasting a genre as there is, solo acoustic minstrel about town. But as loud and vital as the Realistics are, Dennis the one man band is just as an intense, but quiet storm, wielding his absolute mountain of a voice with just as much power and aplomb as he did his with his gyrations and guitar on bigger stages with his rock n roll band. Most impressive to me and those who have borne witness to his recent series of shows around the City is his vocal range - where his Realistics persona channeled the ferocity of a fighter squadron strafing the club, his solo vibe goes from a tender growl to soaring falsettos, with just as much intensity and urgency to pay undivided attention. denniscahlo.com |
