Brenn 05.10.11 @ Fontana's NYC So many excellent bands have been coming out of Nashville the past decade that it can be hard to keep track, but out of the dozens that have come through NYC lately, Brenn is one that definitely deserves your and your friends' attention. When they played and blew everyone's minds here at Fontana's in November 2010, I e-mailed their booking agent to exclaim, "I've never seen a crowd of 20-30 people acting like they were at a stadium show." They've developed a really full and massive sound that takes the best of Kings of Leon, The Killers, and The Bravery taking it soaring to Bends-era Radiohead heights at their peaks. I hope more and more people take notice as they cris-cross the country so they can eventually make it over to Europe, 'cuz they've got the look and songs that are tailor-made for those huge outdoor festivals, a long way from the likes of Fontana's basement to be sure, but I'm glad we were here to witness the beginnings of a soon to be meteoritic career. brennmusic.com |
