New York Band Draft 10.16.10
@ Fontana's NYC The first annual New York Band Draft was the brainchild of a super talented group of local musicians from all over the country who had come here probably not with the express intention of making NYC a more interesting place, but nevertheless certainly succeeded in creating one of the more exciting events of the past year. Basically, a bunch of existing bands were split up - drafted by captains - into whole new bands whose task was to come up with new songs to play at this performance. The result was a cross-pollination in the purest sense of sounds and styles that will carry over well past this celebratory show. The bands in order here are: Bossfight, Felonies Amongst Friends, The Hardcore Jollies, Mame, The Yokos, and Thank You Dr. Zizmor. newyorkbanddraft.com
